Last year, Aftab Shivdasani revealed plans to produce films. The first film from his banner Rising Son Entertainment hits the floors sometime in July. And yes, he will star in it with a debutante. The search for this fresh face is on.Interestingly, Aftab isn’t only producing but also writing it. “I discovered I could write a script when I was waiting in between shots. This resulted in a very interesting romantic story.”Naya chehraAftab confesses, “I’m turning producer to do roles that would otherwise not come to me. In fact, the director has also been finalised. I can’t announce his name because he hasn’t been signed as yet.”This year, Aftab has two releases, “Ganesh Acharya’s Money Hai To Honey Hai and E Niwas’ De Taali, both romantic comedies. Very frankly, I’ve had enough of comedies. I’m hungering for better opportunities. By producing, I hope to renew my energies as an actor.”Personally speakingBut it’s not all work. The actor admits, “I lead a colourful life. I’m just 29 and single.”Aftab is just getting over his break-up with Yana Gupta. “It was painful. But the wounds are healing. We decided not to speak about it. And we haven’t. There’s tremendous respect between us.Beyond a point, it isn’t fun to be single. If I had my way, I’d have gotten married at 23. But things haven’t worked out. Maybe I’ll get lucky in love next time.”
