Kidnapper of Adobe executive's son flees from court

NOIDA: The main accused in the kidnapping of Adobe executive Naresh Gupta's three-year-old son, Chattrapal Singh on Monday fled from a court premises when he was being taken for production before a judge. Chattrapal, who was in judicial custody, escaped after giving a slip to two constables on Monday afternoon, who were taking him from the jail to the Gautam Budha Nagar Court here. They said a manhunt has been launched to nab Chattrapal and six teams of police have been constituted for the purpose. The Special Task Force of Uttar Pradesh Police had arrested Chattrapal from a hide out on November 19, 2006, six days after the kidnapping of Anant, the son of Noida-based software firm's CEO. Anant had returned home three days after he was kidnapped and reports said a ransom of Rs 60 lakh had been paid to the kidnappers.
