Married to a don

The plot of Babu Roy’s Shibaji revolves around a man called Shibaji who earns his living by killing people. The film has Prosenjit Chatterjee and Swastika Mukherjee in the lead. The other members of the cast includes Satabdi Roy, Tapas Pal, Indrajit, Ranjit Mallick, Poulami and Chumki Chowdhury. When asked about her role in the film Swastika says, “I essay the role of a homemaker and it is quite different from what I have done so far. She is extremely ashamed of the fact that her husband is a don. She even calls herself a widow so that no one asks her about her husband. Though she gets killed, the reference of the character keeps coming back till the very end of the film.” Talking about her experience of working with Prosenjit, Swastika adds, “It is always a pleasure to work with Bumbada. He is such a big help on the sets.” .
