Kareena's Loss Is Kajol's Gain

As super successful star pair, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol step into Karan Johar's new directorial venture Khan, Kareena Kapoor has ample reasons to feel disappointed. The actress was just about to get her wish fulfilled. After starring with Shah Rukh in Asoka, she had made it vocally clear that she would love to be paired with the mega-star once again. According to sources, knowing her keenness to star with Shah Rukh, Karan had seriously considered her for Khan. However, it was made clear to Kareena that she would step into the picture only if Karan's favourite actress Kajol could not accommodate the project. In fact, in Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna too, Rani Mukherjee stepped in when Kajol was unable to do the film. That was fine by Kareena as she is a diehard Kajol fan. But as luck would have it, Kajol has finally said yes to Khan. Karan is very excited and nervous. Even though Kajol has not signed a formal contract with him, she has said yes to him a couple of days ago. The director is nervous about bringing back the pair after Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and living up to audience expectations. Khan is set in New York, post 9/11. Shah Rukh and Kajol play a married couple battling with the grim reality of the changed scenario. There will be songs in the film but SRK and Kajol will not be singing in the film. The actors will be venturing into characters, emotions and situations that they have never explored before. We can only wait and watch, how the audience react to the new avatars of SRK and Kajol.
